He intends to further his professional credentials, targeting certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM). His aspirations include managing large-scale construction projects and establishing a consultancy to nurture talent and elevate standards within the construction industry.
His early professional insights were honed at his family's company, which specialized in utilizing Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) for residential buildings. This method, acclaimed for its energy efficiency and environmental resilience, solidified his commitment to sustainable building practices.
From his youth, he was recognized for his leadership and dedication to excellence, which shone through in his academic achievements and tennis pursuits during his school years. His ability to lead and inspire was evident as he led his tennis teams to multiple regional and state championships.
Growing up, Vik Sheverda spent significant time in Hawaii, which instilled a profound respect for the natural environment. This respect has deeply influenced his professional life, driving him to champion sustainable construction practices. In college, he spearheaded an innovative project installing Piezoelectric Tiles in high-traffic areas to harness energy, demonstrating his forward-thinking approach to eco-friendly construction.
In 2015, he studied Civil Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder and then shifted to Construction Management at Colorado State University. There, he excelled academically, earning a 3.78 GPA, being inducted into the Sigma Lambda Chi Honor Society, and regularly appearing on the Dean's List.
Currently, he oversees various phases of construction projects at i2 Construction in Parker, CO. Previously, he gained substantial experience as a construction estimator and project engineer at Saunders Construction in Denver, participating in major projects such as developing an extensive heat recovery system.
One of his career highlights was an internship at the United States Capitol, where he helped preserve the building's historic architectural elements. He cherishes this experience as both an honor and a significant learning opportunity.
Outside of his professional life, he is actively involved in community service through CM Cares and Habitat for Humanity, using his expertise to aid those in need.
